All of the ready made components of the kit and the Kontronik Speedy 400 including control and the 6 x 3 Graupner CAM Prop. The kit is for a 1480 mm span HLG with a target weight of 360 grams. Fibreglass fuselage and balsa built-up wing, stab and fin. Covering is LightSpan.

First step, and the only mod needed: nose cut off and ply bulkhead epoxi-glued. Not quite circular round but good enough.

The rest of the building is easy. A couple of hours work and it is ready for radio installation.
There is plenty of room for a battery pack (7 x 600AE), also for shifting it forward/aft to correct the CG (I hope).

Flying report to follow...
First flight today! (26 May 2002)

No problems, just a few clicks down trim. Very stable flight and easy to control. It feels "safe" but has good soaring potential! Cimb is OK, but a little more power wouldn`t hurt. Maybe 8 cells, or an in-line gearbox...I am looking forward to more flights.

Second flight: 8 cells and the climb is better!
Re-timing the Speed 400 gave an even better climb. A MEGA 16/15/5 brushless and a 7x3 folder (Graupner gray) gave almost vertical climb!!!
Total flying weight 540-550 grams.
