Tiger Shark (mod.)
original design by Peter Rake

Ready for test flight - a modified (nose) Tiger Shark, a Peter Rake Sport Electric design and a free plan in RCM&E August 2001.

Speed 400 1,85:1 gear with Slim Prop 8 x 4 and 8 cells 500AR. Weight 485 grams (17 oz.). Wingspan 91 cm (36").

A very quick and responsive model, not difficult to fly but I had to make the elevator throw considerably smaller and also use expo on ailerons/elevator. Lots of power for this very light airplane, too light in gusty winds! Easy hand launch take-offs, and landing on the belly is no problem. An excellent flyer!

8 HECELL 1100 NiMH inreased the flight time from 5 to 10 minutes, at no significant power loss or weight increase. I really like this little aerobatic model and always bring it along when the winds are not too strong.

The modified nose, to be able to put a geard 400 inside (I could have made the nose a bit more narrow...). Yes - I will put in all four screws before the first flight!
