Has Meredith ever posed nude?
NO.
Do you have a favorite poet ?
My favorite poet is Pablo Neruda
Have you ever had any plastic surgery?
No. In this world of liposuction and nose jobs and lip injections and the need to be thin and the prettiest in order to work... I have so far remained FREE of any kind of help in that area.. which is not to say that there are things I would not like to improve... But this is the way I was born... and hopefully more girls and women will be able to feel confident with themselves and not have to physically alter themselves to conform to society's beauty standard. I do not feel negatively about people who choose to get plastic surgery if it makes them feel more comfortable - but I have not had it - nor do I plan to.
Can you tell me the best things about being an actress?
1. Travel to great places and live as a native as opposed to a tourist because you are there for such a long time (I have been lucky enough to travel to Australia and live in the Outback for 3 months, All over Europe, all across America, Canada, it has been wonderful) 2. Meet very unique people (not just actors - crew people from all the towns you are in, brilliant writers, important political figures - I stayed with the American Diplomat in Germany and visited East and West Berlin, etc) 3. The sheer joy of doing a great scene really well (really feeling committed to a part and being 100% concentrated on the role) 4. The diversity of roles and people you get to become (play)
What are the worst things about being an actress?
1. Intense periods of work and the long breaks to enjoy life (some breaks are too long and it makes me nervous that I won't work for some time and also, the work is very intense when you are working - long hours 17+ sometimes, 6 day weeks) 2. being away from home for months at a time (missing my friends and family -missing important occasions because of filming schedules (ie: my best friends wedding in England I had to miss because I was filming in Canada)
How well known are you in America? Can you go anywhere you want?
I get recognized pretty infrequently and when I do - the people are very nice to me and always say very sweet and positive things.
Have you ever had any other job besides acting?
I was a waitress once for 2 hours!!! (Long Story!) It was the hardest job - I have a lot of respect for people who can handle that. It is harder than it looks.
What movie are you most pleased with?
"The Journey of Natty Gann" was my first important role and I will always hold that film very dear to me. I also loved the character I played in "Matters of Consequence" It was described as a "Holly-Go-Lightly" type woman. She was full of pain inside but on the surface she seemed incredibly confident.
Do you have any favorite actor/actress?
I have many!!! Mostly I focus on specific performances that I admire. I loved the actor David Thewlis in "Naked" - I loved the role Patricia Arquette played in "True Romance" - Natalie Wood from "Inside Daisy Clover" - Betty Davis from "All About Eve" - PAUL NEWMAN is my all time favorite! - Steve McQueen has an intensity I love to watch. I love Holly Hunter. She was brilliant in "Raising Arizona" and "Living out Loud". I thought Debra Winger was great in Urban Cowboy! I loved John Voight in Midnight Cowboy. There are so many performances that have touched me - I could go on forever here.

Yes. It is "Dawn"
How tall are you?
A petite 5' 3" (ca 158cm)
Do you have any pets?
I have a 2 cats : "Calvin Spot" & "Rufus Floyd" (although while I was growing up we only had Dogs)
What kind of movies do you like?
Any film where the actors are 100% committed to the role they play (ie: Ben Stiller in "Something about Mary"- Robert DeNiro in "Awakenings"- Robin Williams in "The Fisher King" - Leonardo DiCaprio in "Gilbert Grape") One of my favorite comedies is "Midnight Run."
Do you have any hobbies?
I write poetry (ever since I was a little girl that has been my favorite thing to do) One of my poems was published in 1996. My other hobbies go in waves- I'll be very interested in one thing for a few months and then focus on something else. I have been learning to play guitar (thanks to my 2 musical friends: Nikka Costa and Tricia Leigh Fisher), I love to read, I like to be outdoors -- hiking. I love spending time with my friends. I have been getting into Yoga.
What kind of music do you listen to?
I love the music of "Nikka Costa" (she is a friend of mine soon to be releasing a CD from Virgin records) Her music is funky rock & roll with a hip hop vibe and she can SING like Aretha!! I also listen to classic rock Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Elton John. I also love Bjork, Beck, Radiohead, Beastie Boys. Truthfully my taste in music varies on my mood that day. I often listen to different types of music before I film certain kinds of scenes. Music tends to put me in a specific mood. It helps me focus and delve deeper into characters.

At the age of 10 although I started taking acting classes at the age of 8.

I always loved performing as a kid - in front of my family and my parents friends. I would always dress up and put on little shows - I just was drawn to it and I wanted to be an actress at a very young age. So my mother told me if I wanted to do that then I would have to take acting class - and so I did and I loved it. It is amazing to embrace a character that is completely unlike yourself and yet have it feel completely organic.

similar... we are both very strong and determined
I understand that you may have a moral issue but, I was wondering why you have never done a nude scene in a movie....you have a beautiful body, don't be afraid to show it off.
Ummm.. I have never done a scene like that because I have never played a role that required it.
